Winner of 1995 Wellington Tourism Award for Best Heritage Experience The Fell Museum houses H 199, the only remaining Fell Locomotive in the world (built in 1875), and F 210, a Fell brake-van built in 1898. These worked on the three-mile (4.8km) Rimutaka Incline, New Zealand's steepest railway line, from 1878 to 1955. View the wide-screen, surround sound, audio-visual presentation Rimutaka 1949. Other historic films also available, all exclusive to the Museum. Models, memorabilia, historic photographs with clear, informative captions. Souvenirs for all ages, including railway books and DVD's, magnets, badges, postcards and other items. Carpeted throughout with easy access and parking. Open 7 days 10am - 4pm.
